
Baker Tilly Mooney Moore Awarded ‘Gold Star’ Service Excellence Accreditation
The launch of the “Gold Star” Service Excellence Accreditation scheme took place on the 23 June at the Headquarters of the Ulster Bank in Belfast.
In 2010 Baker Tilly Mooney Moore was selected to take part in the pilot programme and Damien Diamond, along with representatives from three other firms; Airporter, SLA Mobile and the NI Chamber of Commerce, was invited to speak on the firm’s experience of the programme at the launch.

The ‘Gold Star’ Service Excellence Accreditation Scheme has been developed to increase competitiveness through developing world-class customer service. It’s based on research into international approaches to building world class service excellence and has been developed by Centre for Competitiveness in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and The Consumer Council and is supported by Ulster Bank.
The scheme is designed for SMEs from the private sector and is a practical approach to assisting micro, small and medium sized enterprises. It is suitable for companies who deal with other companies and those that deal with consumers.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, Arlene Foster said: “I welcome the opportunity to launch the Gold Star Accreditation Scheme, which will help small and medium businesses develop the world-class levels of customer service. I want to congratulate the four Gold Star companies recognised today as they lead the way in delivering service excellence.”
Delegates heard from the Gold Star companies about the scheme benefits including, in time, increased sales, increased customer loyalty, reputation and brand and a potential for real competitive advantage over their competitors, both locally and overseas.
