Baker Tilly Mooney Moore’s longstanding collaboration with the Conservation Volunteers continued recently when our team of four new trainees and two current trainees spent a rewarding day volunteering with the conservation charity at Cultra. Calculators and spreadsheets were set aside for gloves and shovels, the group rolled up their sleeves and contributed to an important environmental project.
The team worked tirelessly outdoors, embracing the fresh air and getting their hands dirty to support the creation of a large growing area. This involved dismantling old fences and preparing the ground for the next phase of the project. Their efforts will help turn this space into a flourishing tree nursery.
For the trainees, the day was not just about hard work; it was an opportunity to bond as a team, develop skills outside the office, and support a worthwhile cause. While physical labour might be a departure from their usual tasks, it’s a reflection of the diverse and dynamic approach we foster at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore.
Volunteering initiatives like this are part of our firm’s commitment to creating well-rounded professionals who understand the importance of community and sustainability. Our partnership with local organisations such as the Conservation Volunteers allows us to contribute meaningfully to the areas where we work and live.
Donal Laverty, Consulting Partner, Baker Tilly Mooney Moore said: “Seeing our trainees engage with a project like this fills me with pride. It demonstrates their dedication, teamwork, and willingness to make a positive impact beyond the workplace. It is important to us at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore that our trainees understand our commitment to giving back to our communities, and days like this embody that commitment perfectly.”
Niall Brolly has recently joined the firm as a Trainee and said: “Working with the Conservation Volunteers was such a rewarding experience. It was eye-opening, and it felt great to contribute to a project that will benefit so many people. Spending the day outdoors with my colleagues was a great bonus, and we can’t wait to return to see the trees that grow in the area we cleared today.”
At Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, we’re proud of our team’s commitment to making a difference – both inside and outside the office.
