We are delighted to welcome Grainne Smyth and Kai Dickie to the firm. Having recently completed the BSc in Accounting at Ulster University, they bring with them a strong academic foundation and a shared ambition to build their careers in the accountancy and tax profession.

Grainne is already a familiar face to Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, having taken part in our internship programme during the summer of 2024. During her time with us she gained valuable first-hand experience across a range of service areas, working closely with colleagues in audit and accounts and gaining insight into the culture, expectations and professional opportunities at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore. That early engagement gave her a clear sense of what life at a leading advisory and accountancy firm involves and provided her with a solid platform as she now begins her graduate journey.

Grainne will undertake her professional qualifications with Chartered Accountants Ireland, progressing through her training contract while contributing to client-facing work from the outset. She will be involved in assignments across different areas of the firm, building technical knowledge and professional skills under the guidance of our experienced teams. Kai is joining the firm’s tax team, where he will study with the Association of Tax Technicians, before progressing to the Chartered Institute of Tax to complete his professional qualifications. This structured approach ensures that they will gain a blend of practical experience and technical training as they develop into future leaders of the profession.

Joanne Small, Audit and Assurance Partner, said: “We are delighted that Grainne and Kai have chosen Baker Tilly Mooney Moore as the place to begin their professional journeys. They are joining us with excellent academic credentials, fresh perspectives and real enthusiasm for the work we do. Our graduate trainees play an important role in the firm, and we are committed to helping them grow, learn, and develop their expertise through meaningful work and high-quality training.”

Donal Laverty, Consulting Partner, said: “Investing in new talent is an essential part of the firm’s long-term strategy. Grainne and Kai are joining at a particularly exciting time as we continue to grow and expand the services we provide to clients. They will benefit from mentorship, structured development and opportunities to contribute to impactful client work from the outset.”

We warmly congratulate Grainne and Kai on joining our team and look forward to supporting them as they take their first steps towards rewarding careers in the profession. Their energy, commitment and fresh thinking will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our team for the future.
