Congratulations to Claire Hamilton, from our Payroll Department who raised more than £790 for charity by taking part in the virtual London Marathon 2020. Claire has been applying to take part in the marathon for a number of years but was successful this year, only to have to take part virtually and in the pouring rain!

Claire said: “Our Payroll team has been exceptionally busy over the past few months with JRS and everything that has come with COVID-19, so being able to get outdoors has been brilliant for our mental health. It was a lovely way to stay in touch with the team too as we took part in our virtual bootcamps while working at home.

“Of course we were supposed to go to London to take part, but it was cancelled so thousands of people participated virtually instead. I ran to raise vital funds for Northern Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. I live in Carrickfergus so we ran out to Whitehead and on to Gideon’s Green in Whiteabbey, starting and finishing at the castle.

“It was hard work but it went really well; we’ve been training hard, although the weather was terrible – but it was all for charity so it definitely made it worth it.

“Getting out into the fresh air is good for our mental health, and keeping fit. I ran all through lockdown and it’s certainly something I would recommend to anyone that needs a break from their home office!”

Well done to Claire from the whole team here at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore!
