Adrien Pelan joined Baker Tilly Mooney Moore in 2017 and is the firm’s first employee to have completed Belfast Met’s Higher Level Apprenticeship scheme. She graduated in the Summer of 2019 and said “Completing the Accounting Technicians Ireland qualification as part of the HLA was a great opportunity to get a head start in the Accountancy profession and it allowed me to progress onto the professional exams with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
“I have been with Baker Tilly Mooney Moore for almost four years and am the first person to have completed a higher-level apprenticeship at the firm. During this time, I have been given the opportunity to provide bookkeeping and Accountancy services to a range of clients from a variety of sectors. I’ve also been given the honour of taking over Baker Tilly International’s Instagram account. This allowed me to share a day in my working life with people from all over the globe!

“It has been a great experience learning from everyone at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore. The firm has really nurtured my career, allowing me to develop my knowledge and skills within this profession. I’ve also really enjoyed engaging with all of the social activities available and enjoy its supportive and inclusive culture.
I would highly recommend Belfast Met’s HLA scheme to anyone considering a career in Accountancy. Taking this route has allowed me to fast track into my dream career in a fantastic organisation and I’m proud to be the first person to complete a higher-level apprenticeship at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore.”

Business Services Partner, Stephen McConnell, says, “As the first apprentice that we recruited, Adrien has been a fantastic addition to the team. Recruiting school leavers directly from college has worked very well for us, and I encourage any business or enterprise to consider following our lead.”
