Joanne Small, Emma George & Ashleigh Shaw

Did you know that 60% of our staff are female? On International Women’s Day 2021, we’re profiling some of Baker Tilly Mooney Moore’s outstanding female professionals and are looking at the challenges they’ve encountered along their career paths.

Our Audit & Assurance Partner, Joanne Small, is proud to be one of the women who make up a third of our partners. Her background is in general practice, however, she specialises in the provision of audit and consultancy services to a wide range of clients. She said “Over the last year we’ve had the dual challenge of everyone moving to working from home overnight whilst continuing to provide the highest level of services to clients, when they needed support more than ever. Our team fully embraced this and adapted quickly.”

Graduate Trainee, Emma George, says: “I started working with our team about six months before the Covid-19 lockdown. I spent the first number of weeks getting to know the people and learning our processes which was great. It was brilliant to get more and more involved with clients and learning about their businesses. Baker Tilly Mooney Moore has really supported me in beginning my career at a very challenging time!”

Ashleigh, another of our graduate trainees, was thrilled to join the firm in 2019. She says: “These have definitely been challenging times, and certainly not the traditional way of taking part in a Graduate Training Programme, but it’s still been a great experience with plenty of ‘on the job’ learning. The team at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore has been brilliant, really helpful and more than welcoming – even if we’re not sitting beside each other!”
