Gaining Valuable Insight: Saying Goodbye To Our Summer Interns

Aug 7, 2025
At Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, we have been delighted to welcome Dylan Adair and Grace McKay as part of our three-week Summer Internship Programme, which comes to an end this week. Following a competitive application and interview process, both students secured their place on the programme, which offers hands-on experience and insight into life at an accountancy and business advisory firm. Both students have completed two years of the Accounting programme at Queen’s University Belfast and will return in the autumn to begin their final year of study. The internship has given them a valuable opportunity to build on their university learning with practical experience across a number of service areas within the firm. Throughout their time with us, Dylan and Grace have been exposed to a variety of specialisms, including Audit and Business Services. Working closely with our professional teams, they have gained insight into the day-to-day operations of a busy practice, from understanding audit planning and risk assessment to supporting the preparation of financial statements. A key part of their experience included joining our teams on site with clients, allowing them to see first-hand how we work in partnership with businesses across different sectors. Our Summer Internship Programme is designed to give students a well-rounded introduction to the profession, combining technical learning with real-world experience. It’s an opportunity to explore different career paths within accountancy, develop key skills, and build professional networks that will support future career development. Eimear Brown, Head of Audit at Baker Tilly Mooney Moore, said: “It’s always fantastic to see students like Dylan and Grace take full advantage of their time with us. They’ve shown enthusiasm, professionalism, and a willingness to learn – all qualities we value highly. Our internship programme is a key part of nurturing future talent in the accountancy and business advisory professions. As their internships come to a close, we thank Dylan and Grace for their contribution to the firm and wish them every success as they continue their studies at Queen’s. We hope the experience has inspired them to pursue a future in accountancy and look forward to seeing where their careers take them.”
